Alpine Squad Selections have now been published
It was with great sadness that the 2023 ISF Winter Games which were due to take place in Erzurum, Turkey were cancelled due to the recent tragic events in Turkey and Syria; our thoughts remain with all those affected by the earthquakes and with all those involved.
ESSKIA and its ISF athletes, who worked extremely hard to be selected for this year's games, though disappointed, fully understand and support the decision. We would like to thank our coaches, families and athletes for their hard work in preparing for the games, their support which continues with the parents organising a Disaster Emergency Committee donation.

The International Schools Sports Federation (ISF) was organised for the first time in 1973 in Schladming, Austria with students from all over the world competing both in Cross Country Skiing and Alpine Skiing.
As a lowland country, England sends composite teams of 10 boys and 10 girls, in two age groups. ESSKIA has sent teams to the events held in Sweden (1985, 1989, 2005), France (1991, 2001, 2008, 2018), Canada (1993), Italy (1995, 2010, 2012, 2016), Germany (1997), the Czech Republic (1999), Austria (2003), Andorra (2007) and Spain (2014).The world school games event, run by the ISF usually takes place in February and changes location for each occurence. All decisions at the selection meeting will be FINAL and succinctly, selection is not negotiable.
Selectors will, at all times, carefully consider athletes’ suitability to be a team member, justifying to themselves that the athlete will perform to their highest standards.
Each selection decision will be supported by written evidence of the comparisons made, data considered and decision process. The panel decision will be final and not open for appeal or challenge, however if requested, information and supporting evidence of decisions can be made available to unsuccessful applicants should it be requested.
Prior to the final decision, team selections will not be discussed in any way outside the selection panel. Conversations with the individual selectors or anyone with influence over the decision in any form will not take place.
We hope everyone involved understands the need to set out clear criteria.
