The International Schools Sports Federation (ISF) was organised for the first time in 1973 in Schladming, Austria with students from all over the world competing both in Cross Country Skiing and Alpine Skiing. As a lowland country, England sends composite teams of 10 boys and 10 girls, in two age groups. ESSKIA has sent teams to the events held in Sweden (1985, 1989, 2005), France (1991, 2001, 2008, 2018), Canada (1993), Italy (1995, 2010, 2012, 2016), Germany (1997), the Czech Republic (1999), Austria (2003), Andorra (2007) and Spain (2014).
Every 2 years ESSKIA take a team of pupils to represent England and compete in the alpine skiing discipline at the International School Sport Federation's Winter Games (ISFWG). This prestigious event, run by the ISF usually takes place in February and moves venue for each occurrence. For many of the selected skiers this opportunity represents a real highlight in their skiing careers and ESSKIA takes pride in supporting them to attend the event and represent their country.
