ESSKIA’s annual Alpine Camps see selected athletes
travelling to Europe with our dedicated, highly
experienced and inspirational coaches. It is an
honour for athletes to be selected and all athletes
return with huge experience and a smile on their
faces.
The selection process for Esskia Training camps, ensuring fairness and objectivity. Data is collected, as a percentage, that racers are behind the winner, from all of the qualifying races. This is then cross referenced with the results from the English Schools, age group, finals, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of each participant’s performance. This data-driven approach not only considers the individual’s speed and skills but also factors like consistency. The transparency of this process ensures that every aspiring athlete has an equal opportunity to showcase their abilities and earn a spot in the Esskia Squad to experience one of the snow training camps.
In addition to our Alpine Training Camp, every 2 years ESSKIA take a team of pupils to represent England and compete in the alpine skiing discipline at the International School Sport Federation's Winter Games (ISFWG). This prestigious event, run by the ISF usually takes place in February and moves venue for each occurrence. For many of the selected skiers this opportunity represents a real highlight in their skiing careers and
ESSKIA take pride in supporting them to attend the
event and represent their country.
