Esskia is an incredible organisation that has been going for many years. I have such fond memories of every Esskia trip I went on and the friends I made. The best esskia trips were when we got selected to represent our country at World Schools, we got to see so many amazing places and got to experience things we didn’t always get chance to do when racing. The coaches were always so supportive and positive and gave every athlete on the trip, the confidence to do anything they wanted in the ski world. Esskia is something I will always treasure close to my heart and remember as the start of a great career in skiing for me.

“Emily Sarsfield - Olympian & British Number One Ski Cross Athlete

Started skiing at the age of 3 on family holidays and recruited to make up the numbers on my school ski race team at the age of 12.  Having had no previous race experience, ESSKIA was my first introduction to racing and I loved it. That year I was selected for the ESSKIA squad and went on my first ski training camp across to Norway with the team, what an amazing experience and something I remember to this day! This sparked a love for alpine racing and I joined my local race club at Silksworth and started attending more competitions. I was lucky enough to be selected for the GB Children’s team and attend 2 x World Schools Championships, World University Games and many international competitions. Following a successful Alpine career I made the switch to Ski Cross in 2005 and went on to represent GB on the World Cup circuit, competing in 3 World Championships and achieving a life long dream of representing Team GB at the 2018 Olympic Games and making British history. I’m truly thankful for all the opportunities this sport has given me, the places I’ve travelled, friends I’ve made and lessons I’ve learnt ... it’s really is something special!”
